Christian
Lashawn Patterson McClendon was born on December 20,1989 to Simone Patterson and
James Myers and later adopted by Walter and Sarah McClendon in 2002. She comes
from a large family of seven brothers and four sisters. Her hobbies include
reading and writing both poetry and music. She also loves to sing.
In her young life she has faced pain, struggle, acceptance, and fear. In July of 2007 her biological mother, Simone Patterson, passed away due to a life of pain that led to alcohol abuse. However, Christian didn't let that keep her down or hold her back, she felt that it gave her a will to live and succeed for her mother. In 2008 Christian was faced with a tough decision, whether to drop out of high school or continue to work towards a diploma. She decided that school wasn't for her so she dropped out but soon realized that her life was not going to be the same without her education.
In September of 2009 determination and a starvation for knowledge led her to a road of hope. She decided to re-enroll into high school and she found much success in her decision. In December of 2009 she finished high school and she is now a high school graduate from Rutland High School in Macon, Georgia.
