A BULLET SHOULD COST ATHOUSAND DOLLARS (BASED ON A TRUE NEWS VIDEO...IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME ON THAT SEPTA BUS!!!)

I Was Sittin' On SEPTA

Mindin' My Own

Tired From Work And

Thinkin' Of Home

Saw A Sista Hit Her Child

Near The Front Of The Bus

Then That Just Seemed

To Start A Big Fuss

She Got Off The Next Stop

I Said "Well, That's

The End Of That!"

When Suddenly There Was

A "RAT TA TAT TAT!!!"

Bullets Came Flyin'

Thru The Windows And Door

Everyone Shocked

As We Fell To The Floor

The Driver Kept Cool

Put His Foot On The Gas

He Wasn't No Fool

Took Us Outta There Fast

My FATHER Heard My Plea

Took Us Out Of Harm's Way

Lead Us All To Safety

Nobody Died This Day!

I Stared At The Bus Lookin' Like A War Zone

This Happened In The City

That I Call Home!

I Don't Understand

And Started To Cry

How They Could Be So Cold

Wanting Us All To Die?

I Got Home Drained

Went Straight To My Bed

These Words Kept Going

Round And Round In My Head:

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! SHAKE MY DAMN HEAD!

"NEW CRACK CITY"

Crack, Crack, Crack, Crack City

It Sure Ain't Pretty

All The Sights

In Crack City

See Them Nod

See Them Stare

The Smell Of Rent Money

Burning In The Air

Look At Him

Once So Fine

Now He Looks Like

A Rat's Behind

Look At Her

Once So Cool

All That's Left

A Cracked Up Fool

Crack, Crack, Crack, Crack City

It Sure Ain't Pretty

All The Sights

In Crack City

The CIA

Up To No Good

Used Our Tax Dollars

Brought Crack To The 'Hood

For The Contra War

We Paid A High Cost

With The Many Black Lives

And Souls That It Cost

The War On Drugs

Was A Lie To Us All

As The War With Drugs

Caused Our Cities To Fall

Crack, Crack, Crack, Crack City

It Sure Ain't Pretty

All The Sights

In Crack City

You'll Sell Your Bed

Hit Folks In The Head

Sell Your Behind

Even Do Hard Time

Whether Chains Of Iron

Or Rocks Of Crack

We Have To Break

What Holds Us Back

We've Come Too Far

And Stayed Too Strong

To See Our People

Now Belong

To Crack, Crack, Crack, Crack City

It Sure Ain't Pretty

See Our Beautiful Ones

In Crack City

Crack, Crack, Crack, Crack City

It Sure Ain't Pretty

All The Lost Souls Livin'

In Crack City (Your Tax Dollars At Work)

PLEASE, MY LOVE; DO NOT ABUSE

If My Wit Does Not Amuse

Please My Love, Do Not Abuse

If You Disagree With Things I've Said

Don't Prove Your Point Upside My Head

If Next Time, You Crack My Jaw

I Will Be Forced To Call The Law

With You, I Do Not Want To Fight

Because You're Male---

Your Fists Have Might

If I No Longer Make You Smile

I Can Go Away A While

Your Upraised Arm Causes Much Alarm

It's Brought My Body

Too Much Harm

When To Be Your Wife

I Did Agree

This Side Of You

I Did Not See

My Love For You

Will Surely Go

If Violence Is What You Must Show

I Don't Want To Live

With Pain And Fear

Just Say That You

Don't Want Me Near

I Can Leave You All Alone

And Find Myself Another Home

If This Ain't How You Really Feel

Now's The Time To Be For Real

Don't Bruise The Body

Don't Hurt The Heart

When Things Get That Way

It's Time To Part

If What I Say Creates Dismay

Don't Break My Bones

To Get Your Way

If You're Feeling Angry

Or Confused

Please Walk Away....

Do Not Abuse

THE MILLION MAN MARCH (Washington DC Monday, October 16, 1995)

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Together On A Cool Fall Day

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Gathered Together In A Positive Way

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

A Word From One Was All It Took;

To Come Together In Unity

For The Entire World To See.

Some Said It Wouldn't Come To Pass

It'll Start Out Calm But Wouldn't Last.

That A Million Black Men Wouldn't Care

Or If They Did---They Wouldn't Dare!

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Together On A Cool Fall Day

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

United In A Positive Way

"Watch Out For That Farrakhan

He Spreads Hate Throughout The Land!"

They Could Not---Would Not See

His Call---That Asked For Unity!

They Did Not Want Black Men To Hear

The Call Sent Out So Loud And Clear.

But Black Men Came By Bus And Car

Travelling From Near And Far.

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Together On A Cool Fall Day

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Making History In A Positive Way

They Heard The Message From This Man

Coming To Support The Plan.

Black Men---Both Young And Old

Joined Together---Proud And Bold

In Peace, They Came As One

And Left In Peace When It Was Done.

Black Brotherhood, Alive And Strong

And Like The Sun---Shone All Day Long!

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

In D.C. On A Workday Monday

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Making History In A Positive Way

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Joined Together In Unity

How Does A Million Black Men Look?

Standing In Peace For All To See!
