Living The Legacy

Beloved, losing someone special in your life is never an easy pill to swallow. It becomes much more easier to engage in anger. From wanting to blame our heavenly Father or loved ones around us, to even becoming angry within ourselves in order to cope with reality. No matter the situation, our job as honoring our risen ancestors is to leave the same impact on someone else as it was when that someone left an impact on you.

Whatever feeling that you harbor within, you should allow yourself to release the dark energy within. Transform it the best way possible into positive energy; reach out to someone and help them in the same position. Love on someone as if you were loved by that someone.

Shalom.....

2nd Chances

Beloved, you ever feel like you've been placed in a situation that you were once in some time ago? Situations could be anything (life, relationship, financial, etc.) and you find yourself back in that very same spot again, facing that very same situation? Maybe you thought you had the answers at that time but did not? Or maybe you weren’t able to face the situation at the time due to your ability of not being able to handle it?

We gotta be firm believers of 2nd chances. We must allow ourselves to use the wisdom we obtained from the last time and apply it to make it work this time. You only live once but sometimes we do get another chance to make a change and get it. It's like taking a re-test. You may have flunked the first time. But over time and the thoughts of what went wrong, we are now in position to make it right again! Take that 2nd chance today and make it right for yourself!

Shalom…..

Fatherless Son

Excuse me “dad”.

Let me tell you about your fatherless son.

It's crazy how you fathered all your other kids.

Involved in their lives.

All but one.

Denied me twice.

Once at birth and again at 2.

Took 2 tests and they both came back saying it was

You …

Are the “father.”

You didn’t give a shit or bother.

To lend your hand to a weeping

Baby crying, hollering "father."

Kept me secret from your family,

Wasn’t even acknowledged.

Til I surfaced at my sister’s wedding,

Known as the one "forgotten".

Realize ole boy,

You’re a sperm donor to me.

A stick man.

I look at you as what you gave my mom.

You’re just a dick, fam’.

It's okay

cause to you,

I’m just a fatherless son.

A figment of your imagination.

No need to father this one.

You know nothin’ about me,

But my life's a marvelous one.

And when I have kids.

They won’t have a fatherless one.

Never, will they have to contemplate on them days

Questioning their mom on why their pop had faded away

Nothing to that extent on why the seeds that he laid

became fruitful and wondered why he never had stayed

But,

They will understand the man that he is

Who didn’t run from his problems

And yet he handles his biz

Cause he knows the meaning of a fatherless kid

Who promises to never be the man that you is

So

Here’s a question from your fatherless son

What about me that you didn’t wanna father this one?

I mean, even my step pop was there and he's just a conjugal one

Don’t know me but yet you had the knowledge to run

No cause for concern cause I am better than you

I’m tall, chocolate and handsome, I look better than you

You’re a lame dude, and I’m a go-getter with moves

Like sun rays to me, You’re invisible too

But

Here is something from your fatherless son

Don’t claim me as your child, I’m God's prodigal one

When you reach the judgment seat, have a liable one

Excuse to give God when he asks,

Why didn’t you father this one?…

The Next Time… (I Say Hello)

Aye yo listen miss

Just because I happen to walk by

With a stroll full of positivity

Give you a lil wink and smile

And say hello

Doesn’t mean that I’m tryna fuck you

Nor was I gonna ask you for your number

Or even have you sit around and wonder

What exactly my intentions were

Like you even give a shit

I spotted you from a mile away

With your nose turned up

Head cocked sideways

Trying all you can do

To at best avoid eye contact

But you just happened to stroll my way

Even if you wasn’t feeling it I had to acknowledge you

But with your funky attitude

I couldn’t even get a chance to

Express to you that you are a powerful

Full fledged queen

With a walk so mean

That you can create peasants from this earth

To bow to you

I’m not certain as to what happened

Between you leaving your house

And you walking past me

That would cause you

To want to be upset

When someone acknowledges you

Be so quick to wanna turn away

A friendly gesture

Of a quick hello

And a have a good day

And you wonder why chivalry is dying

Cause dudes like myself

Are constantly trying

To make an impact

A small deposit of positivity

A small token of something

That is respectable

An obligation of something

That we just happen to practice religiously

And that is merely

To respect you

Embrace a quick moment in your presence

Whether one word could

Turn into a lifetime

Or it could end up as

A moment of second guesses

But I guess miss

You were too busy caught up

In your own interaction

Thinking that if you wouldn’t

Acknowledge me back

Was something obtainable

To fulfill your own satisfaction

And based off your reaction

You’re just not used to someone

Actually interested in

Being able to put a smile on your face

Cause being cordial is not something

That you should feel the need

To neglect

Or something that leaves you gasping

It’s just something small that

You can take with you

As an embrace

But

I do hope you have a good day

Whether it’s me or someone else

Who may cross your path tho’

I pray that your attitude changes

The next time someone

Respects your presence

And just simply says

Hello……
