We All Fall Victim

Shame on a world that seduces her with fallacies

Tells her that her womanhood lies between her thighs

Her power can be opened and closed

Entered into and exited from

Shame on a world that hypnotizes him with hypocrisy

Tells him that his manhood hangs between his legs

His power can be erected and measured

Held and released

Shame on those who believe what the world is telling them

Look How Far We’ve Come

Running through darks woods

Running through dark alleys

Fear rushing through his soul like the sweat rushing down his face

Confusion rushing through his mind like the envy that rushes through their hearts

Pale barbaric humans in close pursuit

Dark barbaric humans in close pursuit

Thirsty for his blood and the opportunity to tie a golden coarse rope around his neck

Thirsty for his blood and the opportunity to wear his shiny gold rope around their neck

Let his black body hang from the poplar tree

Leaving his black body laying because it’s popular

Then

Now

The Revolution Needs Ratings

I heard the revolution will not be televised
WHY NOT?
Everything is.
From porno clips disguised as music videos
To modern day Sambos looking for a "flava of love"
So why can’t my revolution be televised?

Why must it be whispered about?
Merely mentioned
Instead of broadcast
We yearn to go beyond
Hearing and writing, and talking
About a revolution
But seeing it

So I will broadcast my revolution
On...
CBS
NBC
ABC
MSNBC
CNN
CSPAN
VH1
MTV

We've already tried to broadcast it on BET
BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!!

I'll broadcast my revolution in HDTV
It's the highest definition
That is deserving of the greatest clarity
Because it will speak clearly to you

Engage and encourage you
Enrage and enlighten you
Befriend and bewilder you
But most importantly...
INSPIRE YOU

So yes the revolution will be televised
Broadcast live and in closed caption
The revolution will be televised
BUT WILL YOU TUNE IN?

I Came, I Saw, I Left

I gave up on GOD when I was told I had to pay for his blessings
No money to toss in the collection plate so my soul was less worthy of saving
I didn't know the lingo like others
So the hallelujahs and amens are what made them holy
Made me heathen
I said no to Jesus
When those that bear his name said no to me
Because my attire didn't match their standard
While I tried to speak loudly to the Lord
They whispered quietly about me
Not the salvation I was expecting
The redemption I needed
I stopped worshipping GOD
When I saw those that bear the name of his son
Worshiped the man who was stood at the pulpit
I made the attempt to give this life to him
No one seemed to notice that my soul was weary
It didn't dress well enough
Speak in the right tongues
Have sufficient funds
Praise the right idol
So they made me the leper
And I made that my last visit
I'll visit GOD some other time
When his house is in order
